Az Álomutazó egy olyan világban játszódik, ahol már senki sem alszik, ezért senki nem is álmodik. Az emberek napi 24 órát dolgoznak, a gyerekek szinte az egész napjukat a suliban töltik, és csak azért mennek haza, hogy megcsinálják a házi feladatot. Az élet minden területét a mesterséges intelligencia irányítja, és még a pislogás is a hatékonyság elleni bűntettnek számít. A történet főhőse, Tomi a tízéves kissrác azonban egy álombárány segítségével harcba indul az álomvilág megmentéséért.
